Selfishness

This week has been a huge revelation to me. I’ve come to realize this society is very selfish.

Gone are the days of doing things because you want to do them or doing it out of love. Bring in the days of doing things because you either have to do it or you just don’t do it at all because you have another agenda.

Watching the things that are going on in Haiti disturb me. Watching dump trucks dump bodies in landfills and there isn’t a public outcry hurts me to my heart. It’s disturbing to watch a society have little regard to human life. How come people haven’t taken the time to identify who’s who so their families can have a sense of closure? nstead they are left with questions. Wondering if they’ll ever be able to see their loved ones again. Wondering if they are ‘gone’ will they be able to give them a proper place to rest. But watching what’s going on in Haiti is an analogy of our lives.

The Story of Music and Poetry

Every now and then I will post stories of ‘luv’. It will be about anything that has to do with ‘luv’…of oneself, of other people, those who are dealing with adversity and overcame, personal stories, etc. The purpose of Luv Stories is to give encouragement to those who may be dealing with the same issues.

This story was written by Kween Kiwi. You can find her blogging all of the time ((HERE)).

I love you…I still hear those words sometimes. Whether it’s a night time whisper before dreams seep in…or a midday memory as the day passes. I loved when he’d say it. It felt like the most genuine thing anyone has ever said. Those words didn’t come easy. I can remember the day he said it. A few days before…he’d worked himself up to it by questioning whom “I” loved. Refusing to say it first, I played along…naming family members, friends, etc…all to deflect from what he was really asking. Did I love HIM!

Dr Martin Luther King Jr

I’ve already gotten in trouble for one of these ‘Just Another Day’ post. This won’t be any different. I decided to do this the day after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday because I started to reflect on quite a few things that are going on in today’s society. Anyone who knows me knows I usually don’t do montages or tributes. But as a natural observer, I look at things for what they are. Sometimes MY truth does not bode well with what society thinks. But I pose a question that had been on my mind all day yesterday. If Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was alive today would he be proud at what we have become as a population?

Soldier of Love

This post is self-explanatory.
I love Sade.
She’s always been a favorite of mine.
This song may be true for most.
And if so, this is dedicated to you.
With love.

Soldier of Love – Sade

I’ve lost the use of my heart
But I’m still alive
Still looking for the life
The endless pool on the other side
It’s a wild wild west
I’m doing my best
