The question has been asked…
“Where have you been?”
I’ve been around. I haven’t said much.
Actually I haven’t said anything at all.
To those who wondered and asked about me…thank you.
It hasn’t gone unnoticed.
If I haven’t replied to your tweets, notes or emails.
I apologize.
I’ll be back real soon.
When?
I dunno…when I’m told.
I’m still resting.

I was told by someone special a few months ago:
“I asked for you and God sent you to me.”
She cried as she played a song from me that described what she was feeling.

He Heals Me – India.Arie
I held her.
“You make me feel really safe.” she said.
She loves music. So I sat quietly as she continued to play songs for me over time. I wanted to hear the messages she was giving me every time she played a song. It’s funny how thing’s matched India.Irie’s song without trying. Because I was genuinely interested. The songs continued over time. These are examples of a few (of plenty of songs) I heard:

This week has been a huge revelation to me. I’ve come to realize this society is very selfish.
Gone are the days of doing things because you want to do them or doing it out of love. Bring in the days of doing things because you either have to do it or you just don’t do it at all because you have another agenda.
Watching the things that are going on in Haiti disturb me. Watching dump trucks dump bodies in landfills and there isn’t a public outcry hurts me to my heart. It’s disturbing to watch a society have little regard to human life. How come people haven’t taken the time to identify who’s who so their families can have a sense of closure? nstead they are left with questions. Wondering if they’ll ever be able to see their loved ones again. Wondering if they are ‘gone’ will they be able to give them a proper place to rest. But watching what’s going on in Haiti is an analogy of our lives.

I’ve already gotten in trouble for one of these ‘Just Another Day’ post. This won’t be any different. I decided to do this the day after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday because I started to reflect on quite a few things that are going on in today’s society. Anyone who knows me knows I usually don’t do montages or tributes. But as a natural observer, I look at things for what they are. Sometimes MY truth does not bode well with what society thinks. But I pose a question that had been on my mind all day yesterday. If Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was alive today would he be proud at what we have become as a population?

This should be a good kick off to the new year. I’ve posted this before and it needs to be revisited.
To this day I wonder why married people get more play than single people? Just so everyone knows I have never been “officially” married. But a couple of times a few years ago I was “married.” Let me tell you the story.
If you don’t know by now, I’m a finance manager at a car dealership. A few years ago I was a car salesman (yeah, brotha made a big move up in the industry). A friend of mine (a fellow car salesman) had an idea for me. He told me that a lot of people think of car salesmen as crooks and have their own agenda, never thinking of the customer. Trying to take the customer for everything they have. So there are trust issues when it comes between the car salesman and the customer. He told me the customer is more likely to trust me if I was married than if I was single. At that point I was confused, so he explained:

As I logged onto my computer today I have seen a lot of people speak on what changes need to be made from this year to the next. How things are going to be better in 2010 than 2009. And that this will be the year one will be more spiritual or lose 25 pounds or to stop smoking, etc, etc.
My best friend is a work out addict. He hates going to the gym in January because he says it seems as if people come in at the beginning of the year to work off some pounds and by the beginning of February they all disappear. Those people, he says, interrupt his time on the machines. He says January is the time he gains the most weight because he is frustrated by going to the gym and seeing people he never saw before in his life working out.
